FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 5, 2018
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,667
Joel Embiid (at TOR – $10,700): Needs 47.8 fantasy points. Embiid’s number has been down in recent contests. One game was a blowout and the other came against a tough matchup. The matchup is not tough on Wednesdays. As good as the Raptors are as a team, they struggle against opposing centers. And Bryan is the best center in the league. He had 51.2 fantasy points against the Raptors on Oct. 30. It’s a different Sixers team, but Embiid can do big damage. Diagnosis: Reliable, good matchup, high ceiling.
Nikola Jokic (at ORL – $9,400): Needs 42 fantasy points. Jokic had 62.7 fantasy points against the Raptors on Dec. 3. It was a good matchup then and it’s a good matchup on Wednesday. The Magic struggle against opposing centers and they are on a back-to-back. Jokic has been a bit inconsistent this season, but we know he can put up huge numbers in all categories. Trust the matchup on Wednesday. Diagnosis: High ceiling and a very good matchup. He’ll keep rolling.
Karl-Anthony Towns (vs CHA – $9,600): Needs 42.9 fantasy points. Towns posted 50.7 fantasy points against the Rockets on Dec. 3. He’s shown a high ceiling with Butler out of the mix and he’s been reliable otherwise. The Hornets are a great matchup as they can rarely contain frontcourt players. Towns always has big scoring and rebounding ability. He’s even chipping in with defense as of late. Diagnosis: Matchup is good and a ceiling is high. Towns has been trustworthy since the trade.
Quick Hits
Steven Adams ($7,700): If you don’t want to spend too high, Adams is a good bet. The matchup is the best on the night and he’s reliable. If the game is close, he’ll produce big numbers.
