High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

JaVale McGee (vs SA – $6,300): Needs 28.1 fantasy points. McGee was at 28.6 fantasy points against the Suns on Dec. 2. But it’s the Suns. The Spurs are on a back-to-back and haven’t shown much in the way of defense this season, so this could be another good matchup for McGee. He’s typically reliable for points and rebounds and he chips in with defensive plays. He’s averaging 27.8 fantasy points in two games against the Spurs this season. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Brook Lopez (vs DET – $5,500): Needs 24.6 fantasy points. Lopez has been over 26 fantasy points in his last three games. Hopefully, he’s settled into a rhythm because he’s been all over the place this season. The minutes and shots are there, but when he’s rebounding as he has been, he gets a nice value boost. He should spend more time in the paint fighting for rebounds given the matchup. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but a good ceiling seems to be reliable right now. That can change in a moment.

Nerlens Noel (at BKN – $4,800): Needs 21.4 fantasy points. Noel has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s making a big impact as the backup center and he could see extra time on Wednesday as the matchup is excellent. If this one gets out of hand, Noel will get more run in the final quarter. Even in limited minutes, he has the ability to post a big game given the Nets lack of success against centers. Diagnosis: Remains a nice cost-effective option who can have a huge game. The matchup is great.
