Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

vs. Atlanta Falcons, Sunday 1:00pm

FanDuel Price: $8,100

There were big changes in Green Bay this weekend with Mike McCarthy being fired by the Packers. This is a situation that has been simmering under the surface for some time. McCarthy’s teams have routinely under performed over the years.

However, some of those issues do lie on the general manager and decision makers. They have relied to heavily on Aaron Rodgers and his ability to make those around him better.

Rodgers also has a tendency come up big in pressure situations. This weekend strikes me as one of those scenarios where Rodgers will look to silence his doubters. It helps that the Packers are facing a less than stellar Atlanta Falcons defense.

Backup Option: Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans

vs. Indianapolis Colts, Sunday 1:00pm

FanDuel Price: $7,800

The Houston Texans have set themselves apart in the AFC South title race. A lot of their recent success has come on the shoulders of the defense. However, Deshaun Watson and the offense has also shown improvement.

Houston’s offense has benefited from a re-energized running game. This has created opportunities for Watson to utilize play action.

It’s important to note that Watson’s success is coming despite missing several key pass catchers. The injury to Will Fuller particularly stands out as an issue. Fuller was the team’s primary deep threat and created mismatches with his speed.
