Start: Jaylen Samuels, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

@ Oakland Raiders

With James Connor out with an injury, Jaylen Samuels became one of the hotter waiver wire adds for this week. He’s on a team that has shown a willingness to give unproven running backs a chance to succeed.

It helps that the Pittsburgh Steelers have a great matchup this weekend. The Oakland Raiders are tied with the Cincinnati Bengals as the league’s worst run defense allowing over 150 rushing yards per game.

Samuels will likely get an opportunity to prove his worth and is someone I’d like to have in my lineup at the Flex spot.

Sit: Josh Adams, RB, Dallas Cowboys

vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Josh Adams has been the Philadelphia Eagles workhorse running back for that past few weeks. His carries show that the Eagles are more committed to the run and trust their young running back.

However, this week isn’t a great time to get Adams in your lineup. The Dallas Cowboys defense is among the best run defenses in the NFL allowing below 100 yards per game.

Adams value in PPR formats is hurt by the fact that he isn’t involved in the Eagles passing attack. This means he’ll have to do his damage on the ground against a very tough defense.
