It is playoff time, congratulations on making it to the postseason! If you find your self with a bad option at defense this week or stream them every week as I do, I have suggested Fantasy Football Defenses to stream week 14.

Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 14

Here is what I look for when streaming Fantasy Football Defenses –

      1) Is the Defense at home

      2) Is the Defense playing against a rookie or backup QB?

If you answered Yes to both then that unit is almost a must-start (except that Oakland D in week 9 that did not work out at all). If only one of those answers were Yes, hopefully, it was number 2. Here is a stat to remember, rookie QB’s this year (Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson) have 46 TD’s to 45 INTs and have also lost 7 fumbles! So there is a good chance that a rookie QB will turn the ball over to the defense. All of the rookie QBs except one (Baker Mayfield) have thrown more INT’s than touchdown passes.

My recommendations this week;

1 )Bills vs Jets-Sam Darnold is back at the helm for the Jets and as I mentioned before, he is throwing INTs more than TD’s. The Bills defense has 5 INT’s the last four games and 9 sacks in the last three.

2) Lions @ Cardinals-Josh Rosen is another rookie QB who has thrown more INTs than TD’s. He didn’t throw a pick last week but before that, he threw at least one every game since week six. The Cardinals also lost promising rookie Christian Kirk to IR so their options are even worse. The Lions are top ten in sacks this year and have 9 the last three games.

3) Cowboys vs Eagles-This defense does not have the glaring advantages of going against a backup or rookie QB but did you see that game last week? They dominated the Saints offense and they are at home again. They only have 8 INTs the entire year but 5 of them came in the last four games so they are really rolling right now. In the last 5 games, they also have 14 sacks!

I want to wish everyone luck in their fantasy playoffs and I hope this article helps if you need a defense to play this week. There are a few solid options that should not be too highly owned unless of course you don’t have defenses in your league or play IDP. The last few weeks of the fantasy season is always a mixed bag as the playoffs are exciting but the daunting future of life with no fantasy football for months looms near.
