The most frustrating team in the Premier League this season has been Manchester United. The Red Devils continue to sit in the middle of the table, despite having one of the more talented rosters. On Saturday, United host last-place Fulham, who are desperately trying to get out of the relegation zone.
Manchester United drew 2-2 with Arsenal on Wednesday, giving them three draws in their last three games. United have not won a game since Nov. 3. Anthony Martial scored against Arsenal and has seven goals in his last eight games. Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku did not start against the Gunners as Jose Mourinho rotated his squad. Mourinho has been quick to credit himself when United advanced to the knockout stage in Champions League but he has yet to find a solution to United’s defensive problems. In their first 15 games, United have allowed 25 goals, one more goal than they have scored this season.
Fulham allowed a late goal against Leicester, allowing the Foxes to steal a point at Craven Cottage. Claudio Ranieri has picked up four points in his first three games in charge of the Cottagers. After allowing 31 goals in their first 12 games, Fulham have started to play better in their own half under Ranieri. Up front, the Cottagers will rely on Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle to continue scoring. The duo have combined for 12 of Fulham’s 15 goals this season.
