DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 9, 2018
High Value PF
Players costing $6,250 or under
Noah Vonleh (vs CHA – $5,700): Needs 26.9 fantasy points. Vonleh was down to 18.75 fantasy points against the Nets on Saturday. He’s typically reliable, but his salary has gone up, which is a concern. The matchup is good as the Hornets struggle against frontcourt players. But the Nets struggle against frontcourt players and Vonleh didn’t deliver. Diagnosis: Typically reliable, but salary might be a tad too high. Better value elsewhere.
Rudy Gay (vs UTA – $5,600): Needs 25.7 fantasy points. Gay had just 3.75 fantasy points against the Jazz on Dec. 4. He’s played better in the last two games against the Lakers. But overall he’s been inconsistent this season. I can’t imagine the Spurs play as poor as they did in the last meeting. But there’s no denying that the Jazz are a tough matchup. The minutes are typically there, which is good. Diagnosis: A slight risk due to the matchup and inconsistency. But the minutes and chances will be there.
Marvin Williams (at NY – $4,900): Needs 22.5 fantasy points. Williams had 34 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Dec. 7. He’s been up-and-down in his last five games. If the trend continues, he’ll be down in this game. But it’s the Knicks. I can’t see the trend continuing. He should be able to buck the trend in this matchup and deliver a solid outing. Diagnosis: Good salary, high ceiling, and it’s the Knicks.
