Tight End: Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles- $7,400

For the first time this season, we are spending top dollar at the tight end position and Ertz is the guy to have in your lineup. He leads all tight ends with 93 receptions, has accumulated 978 yards, second amongst the position, and six touchdowns. He broke Brian Westbrook’s single-season franchise record of 90 catches in last week’s victory over the Redskins.

Ertz leads the Eagles in all receiving categories. He has 42 more receptions than Nelson Agholor, who is second in the team in receptions. He is the only player on the roster to be targeted over 100 times this year.

In his last two games, Ertz has compiled 16 receptions 174 yards and one score. In both contests he had at least seven receptions and 83 yards. He has finished with 10+ fantasy points in eight of his last nine games. What is even more impressive is he’s only has three games where he finished in single digits.

This week, Ertz has a tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas’ defense has been stellar, but Ertz dominated the Cowboys earlier in the year. Despite losing 27-20, Ertz caught 14 passes for 145 yards and and two touchdown.

Dallas has allowed tight ends to catch 67 passes for 682 yards and five touchdown. On average, the position is scoring 11 fantasy points per game. To put that into perspective, Ertz is responsible for nearly scoring half of the of touchdowns that Dallas has allowed to tight ends.

The Cowboys are rolling and Philadelphia is battling to keep their playoff hopes alive. Ertz is just 19 catches away from breaking Jason Witten’s NFL record of 111 catches. Dallas will do everything in their power to limit Ertz, but he is going to be too much to handle.
