Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers vs. Denver Broncos

San Francisco 49ers star running back Matt Breida has been dealing with ankle injuries throughout the 2018 season, and they’ve prevented Breida from truly making his mark as one of the breakout stars of the year at the running back position.

Last week, Breida aggravated his ankle injury again, as he suffered an injury during pre-game warm-ups. With Alfred Morris out of the picture, Jeff Wilson Jr. stepped in as the 49ers starting running back, and he became the third back in San Francisco (Raheem Mostert being the other) to gain fantasy relevance.

Wilson ran for 61 yards on 15 carries in a capable performance on the ground, but he truly caught the eye in the passing game, hauling in eight passes on nine targets for 73 yards in a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

With Breida inactive this week against the Denver Broncos, Wilson will be trusted to lead the way for the 49ers offense, and his role in the passing game will be worth watching closely. The Broncos defense has talent, but they’ve allowed 122.1 rushing yards per game and 4.7 yards per carry. There will be running room for Wilson to take advantage of on Sunday.
