Fantasy Football 2018: 10 RB sleepers to target for Week 14
Justin Jackson, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
It’s unclear how long Melvin Gordon will be out with a Grade 2 MCL Sprain he suffered a couple of weeks ago in the Los Angeles Chargers blowout win over the Arizona Cardinals, but the Chargers backfield is in good hands with the tandem of Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.
While Ekeler is starting in virtually every fantasy football league right now, Jackson is in even fewer lineups than LeGarrette Blount despite being a recommended pick-up on the waiver wire. Though he sits behind Ekeler, who was a steady contributor in the Chargers offense even with Gordon healthy and thriving as a legitimate star, Jackson outperformed the man ahead of him in Week 13.
In a memorable win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jackson improved on his encouraging seven-carry, 57-yard game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12, turning nine touches into 82 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown against a usually stout Steelers run defense.
Jackson will face a porous Cincinnati Bengals unit in Week 14, as Marvin Lewis’s squad has allowed 16 rushing touchdowns in 12 games, surrendering nearly 5.0 yards per carry and over 150 rushing yards per game.
Both Ekeler and Jackson will have opportunities to shine this week, but it looks like Jackson is an even more effective player.
