38. Hawaii Bowl – Louisiana Tech vs. Hawaii

Although this is shaping up to be a great game, in terms of being competitive, it doesn’t kick off until 10:30 p.m. (EST). Due to the kickoff time and a full slate of great games on Dec. 22, I wouldn’t recommend staying up late for this one.

37. Idaho Potato Bowl – Western Michigan vs. BYU

Brigham Young opened as a 12.5 point favorite over Western Michigan and will likely cover this spread. Although the Cougars finished the year at .500, they’ve beaten some great teams to get there. Western Michigan will field a high-powered offense, which averaged 450 yards per game, but has yet to face a defense with BYU’s talent and likely can’t slow down the Cougars offense either. Expect this one to get out of hand, BYU will likely roll the Broncos.

36. New Orleans Bowl – Middle Tennessee vs Appalachian State

Not only does Appalachian State look poised to run away with this game, it likely won’t be very entertaining. Middle Tennessee has been held back by turnovers all season, which doesn’t look to change in the Potato Bowl. When you add in the fact that Appalachian State will run the ball every chance they get, you’ve got the perfect recipe for a dull and uneventful game.

35. Cheez-It Bowl – California vs. TCU

If you enjoy watching a defensive battle, this one may be for you. When TCU and California meet in the Cheez-It Bowl, they will field two above-average defenses, but pair it with two well below average offenses. With the over/under opening at 40.5, you may consider hammering the under before this line begins to shift.
