Tim Patrick, WR, Denver Broncos

Stats: seven receptions, 85 yards on 10 targets

This weekend’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers was a kill shot for the Denver Broncos playoff hopes. Denver needed this win, but failed to rise to the occasion. Some will blame the recent injuries to big-name players like Emmanuel Sanders and Chris Harris Jr. for the team’s struggles.

However, the 49ers have dealt with a ton of injuries of their own. Denver was even able to get a solid performance from Sanders’ replacement.

Tim Patrick is in his second season with the Broncos and has seen sporadic playing time. This week he was force into action thanks to the Broncos injury issues at the wide receiver position. Patrick finished the game with a team-high 10 targets.

The Broncos have a very favorable schedule to close out the year. They take on the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders the next two weeks. Both teams have struggled to defend the pass which means that Patrick should have an opportunity to build on last week’s success.

Obviously, this late in the year it’s going to be slim pickings on the waiver wire. There aren’t too many players that a playoff team could add that will have a significant impact. At this point you are looking for depth or someone to help in case of an emergency.
