Players costing $6,667 or under

De’Anthony Melton (at SA – $5,300): Needs 22 fantasy points. Melton had 32.6 fantasy points against the Clippers on Monday. You’re going to read plenty about the Suns and Clippers in the upcoming slides because it’s a slow night on Tuesday. Melton will continue to get the minutes and chances, and the Spurs defense is bad, but I worry about how the Suns will play on a back-to-back after going to OT. Diagnosis: Minutes and opportunities will be there. Call him reliable.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (vs TOR – $5,100): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. SAG had 32.3 fantasy points against the Suns. I continue to love his overall game. My concern is that the Clippers might not have the energy after actually having to play hard against the Suns. Plus, SAG is a rookie and will always be a bit erratic because of it. The matchup doesn’t help. Diagnosis: Same boat as Melton, although the matchup is much tougher.

Derrick White (vs PHO – $4,200): Needs 17.5 fantasy points. White had 21.4 fantasy points against the Jazz on Dec. 9. His minutes have been all over the place in recent games, which is an issue. But if he starts, you can take him with confidence because it means the minutes should be there. Plus, it’s the Suns on a back-to-back and he’s at a low enough salary to where he should be able to hit. Diagnosis: Reliable and Suns.
