High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,667

Chris Paul (vs LAL – $8,200): Needs 34.3 fantasy points. Paul was at 50.2 fantasy points against the Blazers on Dec. 11. He’s still the second option to Harden, but it was a nice reminder of what he’s capable of when he gets rolling. The Lakers are a tougher matchup as they are playing very well right now and I’m still not sold on the Rockets despite their performance against Portland. But Paul gets the minutes and opportunities, which is better than nothing. Diagnosis: Should be around value at the very least. And the ceiling is always high.

Lonzo Ball (at HOU – $7,300): Needs 30.5 fantasy points. Lonzo has been over 35 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He does a little bit of everything, which helps his overall value, but doesn’t post big numbers, at least not consistently, in any one category. He had 27.2 fantasy points against the Rockets on Oct. 20, but that was in limited minutes and coming off the bench. Expect him to give you at least value in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

De’Anthony Melton (vs DAL – $6,000): Needs 25.1 fantasy points. Melton has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. The minutes and opportunities are going to continue to be there for him as the Suns need a point guard and he’s proven himself to be a solid starting point guard in the last few games. The Mavericks are on a back-to-back, which helps Melton’s cause on Thursday. Diagnosis: Good salary and high ceiling. A lot to like about him in this one.
