High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Joel Embiid (vs IND – $11,000): Needs 49.2 fantasy points. Embiid had 62.4 fantasy points against the Nets on Dec. 12. With Butler out of the lineup, it’s on him (and Simmons) to pick up the offensive. We know he can do it. This is a big game for the Sixers as there appear to be some issues internally and the Pacers are rolling right now. But the Sixers are great at home. Diagnosis: Embiid will deliver, especially if Butler doesn’t play.

Jusuf Nurkic (vs TOR – $8,100): Needs 36.2 fantasy points. Nurkic had 30.5 fantasy points against the Grizzlies. It was the Grizzlies, so I’m not too concern. The Raptors aren’t great against the position and now they don’t have the size of Jonas to throw at Nurkic, which could work to his advantage. He should get points and rebounds in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Myles Turner (at PHI – $7,500): Needs 33.6 fantasy points. Turner has been great during this recent stretch and was up to 45.4 fantasy points against the Bucks on Dec. 12. He’s doing a bit of everything and has really boosted his value with his defensive play. I expect him and Embiid to get after it on Friday and very much look forward to the matchup. Diagnosis: Red hot and the minutes and chances will definitely be there.
