Players costing $6,250 or under

Derrick Rose (at PHO – $6,000): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. Rose had 27.25 fantasy points in 22 minutes against the Kings on Dec. 12. And now he gets the Suns. He proved in that game he can put up solid numbers in limited minutes. The minutes will be there enough for him against the Suns and he’ll get his scoring and assist totals in this one. Diagnosis: High ceiling and Suns. Even in limited minutes, he’ll at least get you value.

Reggie Jackson (vs BOS – $5,100): Needs 23.2 fantasy points. Jackson was down to 25.25 fantasy points against the Hornets on Dec. 12. He’s been inconsistent this season, but he’s shown a high ceiling and with the Celtics on a back-to-back (I know they rested guys against the Hawks in a blowout, but they still played and had to travel), I think Jackson and the Pistons can take advantage of them. Diagnosis: Good cost and reliable.

Josh Hart (at CHA – $4,500): Needs 20.5 fantasy points. Hart is getting a lot of minutes and opportunities. And with the Hornets on a back-to-back, the Lakers have a big chance to bounce back after a tough loss to the Rockets. Hart gets his shots and plays with a lot of effort, which lends itself to numbers. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
