Players costing $6,667 or under

Derrick Rose (at PHO – $5,800): Needs 24.4 fantasy points. Rose had 26.2 fantasy points in 22 minutes against the Kings on Dec. 12. The minutes are typically there for Rose, but he showed in that game that he can get busy in limited action. Maybe the action is limited on Saturday because the Timberwolves get to go up against the Suns. And the Suns are not good, no matter how they looked against the Mavericks. Diagnosis: Reliable, good ceiling and Suns.

Reggie Jackson (vs BOS – $5,700): Needs 24 fantasy points. Jackson was down to 23.3 fantasy points against the Hornets on Dec. 12. His scoring was there; he just didn’t do enough with his passing game. The Celtics are a tough matchup, but maybe they have tired legs after the plane ride to Detroit. It’s not like they spent much energy against Atlanta. I’ll trust Jackson to at least hit value and he does have a good ceiling due to his role and playing time. Diagnosis: Reliable. Probably won’t hit his ceiling, but the chances will be there.

Bryn Forbes (vs CHI – $4,400): Needs 18.5 fantasy points. Take your pick of the Spurs guards on Saturday. All of them play solid minutes and get opportunities to produce. Forbes has shown the higher ceiling recently, which is why I would go with him. But Derrick White isn’t a bad option. The main thing is that they’re playing the Bulls. Diagnosis: Reliable, good matchup, solid ceiling.
