High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Bobby Portis (at SA – $5,300): Needs 22.4 fantasy points. Portis hasn’t played many minutes since returning to the lineup, but he’s settled in to a nice salary and his minutes should continue to go up as he gets healthier and in game shape. And if Jabari Parker is truly out of the rotation, Portis will be in a better spot because of it. The matchup is good as I still don’t trust the Spurs defense, even if they have looked better in recent contests. Diagnosis: Reliable and if his minutes go up, his ceiling goes up.

Richaun Holmes (vs MIN – $5,000): Needs 21.1 fantasy points. Holmes was at 29.9 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Dec. 13. He’s not getting big minutes, but he does a lot in limited minutes. And he might end up playing more in this game due to the matchup. I’m just not sure Ayton is going to have a good time against Towns. He remains at a good salary based on what he’s doing right now. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Dario Saric (at PHO – $4,600): Needs 19.4 fantasy points. Saric was up to 32.7 fantasy points against the Kings on Dec. 12. More importantly, he’s played over 30 minutes in the last two games. If Saric is going to get those kind of minutes, he’s going to do enough to at least give you value on Saturday. Especially given the matchup. Saric should have no problem getting hit points and rebounds in this one. Diagnosis: Low-cost and a high ceiling given minutes and matchup.
