The Bundesliga season is nearing the winter break. On Saturday, Hannover host Bayern Munich at HDI-Arena. The Reds are in the relegation zone after picking up only 10 points in their first 14 games, while Bayern are third with 27 points.

Hannover were able to avoid relegation last season but look like they could be relegated for the second time since 2015-16. The Reds are second last because they cannot keep the ball out of their own net. Hannover have allowed 29 goals this season. Only Fortuna Dusseldorf and Nurnberg have allowed more goals. Hannover’s inability to defend will definitely be a problem against Bayern, who have scored 28 goals. Niclas Fulkrug has had a disappointing season. After scoring 14 goals last season, Fulkrug has scored only two goals this year.

Bayern Munich played a wild Champions League game on Wednesday, drawing 3-3 with Ajax. In the second half, each team was shown a red card and five goals were scored, with four occurring after the 82nd minute. Bayern have seven points in their last three Bundesliga games but are still nine points behind Borussia Dortmund. Robert Lewandowski scored twice against Ajax on Wednesday and has 21 goals in 21 games in all competitions this season. The Polish striker will lead the attack against Hannover. In 14 career games against Hannover, Lewandowski has scored 12 goals.
