High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Jarrett Allen (vs ATL – $6,000): Needs 27 fantasy points. Allen can be inconsistent, but the minutes are typically there and the matchup is good on Sunday. When Allen is on his game, he’s getting just enough points, plenty of rebounds, and chipping in defensively. The points and rebounds should be there against the Hawks on Sunday. It’s the Hawks. Diagnosis: Good minutes and matchup. Inconsistent, but a high ceiling.

JaVale McGee (at WAS – $5,900): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. McGee had 37.2 fantasy points in 18 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday. The matchup was good on Saturday and it’s good once again on Sunday. The Wizards are not good and with them being shorthanded, McGee should be able to make some energy plays that leads to points and rebounds. Diagnosis: Don’t love the salary, but he has a high ceiling.

Dewayne Dedmon (at BKN – $5,200): Needs 23.4 fantasy points. Dedmon had 33.8 fantasy points against the Celtics on Dec. 14. He’s been up-and-down in his last few games, but I expect him to break the trend as he goes up against the Hawks. The minutes are there for him and he and Collins can cause havoc in the paint. Diagnosis: Great matchup. Inconsistent, but the matchup is too strong to pass up on.
