Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Washington Redskins – $3400

The Jacksonville Jaguars were gashed last week by Derrick Henry and the Titans rushing attack. However they are two weeks removed from looking like the 2017 unit that dominated the NFL. This week should be more of that type of performance against fourth string quarterback Josh Johnson. Washington is the prime matchup for any defense, and a defense at talented as Jacksonville’s should pitch a shutout this weekend.

Seatte Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers – $3300

Another defense that is not too far removed from dominating the NFL is the Seattle Seahawks. Some of the names have changed but this group is playing great football during the playoff push. Seattle also gets a third string quarterback in Nick Mullens. When these two teams met only two weeks ago Seattle’s defense dominated with three sacks, two fumbles, an interception and a touchdown. A performance like that should be expected once again.

Value Defense/Special Teams

Detroit Lions @ Buffalo Bills – $2500

There have not been many weeks where the Detroit Lions defense can be talked about from a positive fantasy perspective. All season they’ve been up and down. They’re coming off an impressive performance against the Cardinals putrid offense. They get another rookie quarterback in Josh Allen, who’s playing as well as any other rookie quarterback. This is more of a strength versus strength than meets the eye.

Allen has been excelling in large part to his rushing ability. He recently broke Michael Vick’s record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in three weeks. However Detroit is the best defense against rushing quarterback in the NFL. If they force Allen to beat them from the pocket, he is a turnover prone quarterback and this could be a big week for the Lions defense.
