High Value SF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Robert Covington (vs SAC – $5,600): Needs 23.1 fantasy points. Covington’s salary has really dropped off as he’s been dealing with injuries and his minutes are down. He’s failed to crack 25 fantasy points in three straight games. But he’s going to hit big at some point. The Kings on a back-to-back would seem to be a good matchup for him. Assuming he’s not still banged up and his minutes are up. Diagnosis: A risk because the minutes aren’t there. But he’s ready to explode and the matchup is good.

Nemanja Bjelica (at MIN – $5,200): Needs 21.5 fantasy points. Bjelica had 39.5 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Sunday. As I said prior to Sunday’s game, I like Bjelica even more with Marvin Bagley III out of the lineup. And I really like him against the Timberwolves. He’s averaging 35.3 fantasy points in two games against the Timberwolves this season. It’s still a revenge game to him. He’s at a very good salary as well. Diagnosis: A lot of positive for him in this game. Only concern is the back-to-back.

Evan Turner (at LAC – $4,700): Needs 19.4 fantasy points. Turner had 27.2 fantasy points in 21 minutes against the Raptors on Dec. 14. And this is typically his matchup. He’s averaging 25.9 fantasy points in two games against the Clippers this season. The minutes seem to be there for Turner and he does a bit of everything. With the Clippers hurting for depth with Lou Williams out, Turner can take advantage of them. Diagnosis: Reliable and proven matchup.
