Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins

Stats: 12 carries, 123 yards and one touchdown

During the preseason Kalen Ballage was a name to watch. He flashed some big-time potential throughout training camp and those exhibition games. His success in college also played a part in the building hype.

However, Adam Gase decided to feature Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake for much of the season. Gore’s injury against the Minnesota Vikings finally opened the door for the rookie to get some touches.

Ballage made a big impression rushing for over 100 yards including a 75 touchdown run in the third quarter. He was the guy the Dolphins turned too with Gore out and not Kenyan Drake.

This might be a surprise to some, but Drake hasn’t topped eight carries in the past six games. It looks like Ballage could be the main running back in Miami moving forward. He’s going to be the top target in most leagues.

Ballage is a potential RB2 for next week. It’s extremely rare to find someone with that upside this late in the season. He could realistically play a factor in your leagues championship game.

That prospect seems a little dirty, but its the way things play out in this crazy world of fantasy football.
