High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

John Wall (at ATL – $9,800): Needs 45.1 fantasy points. Wall had 79.5 fantasy points against the Lakers on Dec. 16. He’s been over 60 fantasy points in two of his last three games. Numbers are rarely an issue for Wall and he’s definitely been delivering. The Hawks are a good matchup, but maybe too good of a matchup. Hopefully the Wizards defense can keep the Hawks offense in the game. Diagnosis: Great matchup, playing well, high ceiling.

D’Angelo Russell (vs LAL – $8,100): Needs 37 fantasy points. Russell had 56.5 fantasy points against the Hawks on Dec. 16. It was against the Hawks, which certainly helped his case. But now he gets the Lakers and this is still a revenge game for Russell. He averaged 1.1 FPPM against the Lakers last season. Diagnosis: Reliable and with the revenge game in mind, a good ceiling.

Lonzo Ball (at BKN – $6,500): Needs 29.9 fantasy points. Lonzo followed up his 31.25 fantasy point game against the Hornets with 31.25 fantasy points against the Wizards. A respectable outing, which is what Lonzo is more or less turning in nowadays. And he’s shown a high ceiling, which has helped his value. The matchup is good, but Lonzo can be inconsistent because he’s not reliable in a single category. He’s a “value by committee” player. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but inconsistent. Should be good enough for at least value.
