High Salary SF

Players costing over $6,667

LeBron James (at BKN – $11,500): Needs 47.7 fantasy points. James was down to 23.7 fantasy points against the Wizards on Dec. 16. Don’t put too much stock into that game. He’s still LeBron. And the Nets are a great matchup. He needs a big game to justify the salary, but he’s LeBron. We know he can have a big game. With the Lakers coming off a loss, expect LeBron to carry them. Diagnosis: Reliable with a very high ceiling.

Harrison Barnes (at DEN – $5,600): Needs 23.2 fantasy points. It’s rough at small forward with all the injuries. Barnes’ value is still largely tied to his scoring, which is an issue. But this feels like a solid game for him because he’s going to need to get tough buckets against a good defense. I also think he’ll chip in a bit with his rebounding. Diagnosis: Reliable.

Jeff Green (at ATL – $5,300): Needs 22 fantasy points. Green had 32.9 fantasy points against the Lakers on Dec. 16. If the Wizards are shorthanded again, Green figures to see big minutes. And the matchup is a good one because it’s the Hawks. If Ariza ends up playing then Green has less value because Ariza is going to occupy a lot of those minutes. But if Ariza is out, Green is a good option. Diagnosis: High ceiling as long as Ariza doesn’t play.
