High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Thaddeus Young (vs CLE – $6,500): Needs 27.7 fantasy points. Young was down to 26.2 fantasy points against the Knicks on Dec. 16. Don’t worry, his scoring and rebounding should return against the Cavaliers. The only concern is that this is a blowout. You can also roll with Sabonis, although his minutes are not as guaranteed, which hurts his value despite being a high ceiling player. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (vs LAL – $5,600): Needs 23.8 fantasy points. Hollis-Jefferson has been over 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games. His minutes are all over the place, but he’s a starter and gets his shots. He can also chip in with rebounds and assists. The matchup is a good one. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, but inconsistent minutes doesn’t make him quite as reliable.

Rodions Kurucs (vs LAL – $4,400): Needs 18.7 fantasy points. Kurucs has been over 21 fantasy points in his last three games. He’s starting and getting minutes, but who knows when that might drop off. For right now, he seems to be a fairly reliable option as he’s getting points and rebounds. Diagnosis: Reliable at the moment. But I worry that his minutes tank without warning. Good matchup with the Lakers struggling against opposing frontcourt players.
