New York Jets WR Robby Anderson

With the fantasy football championships looming this week, owners are on the lookout for players who are heating up at the right time. It looks like New York Jets top wide receiver Robby Anderson is one of those guys, as he’s put together back-to-back strong weeks as the biggest playmaking threat in the Sam Darnold-led Jets offense.

Darnold had a highly productive outing in Week 15, and Anderson benefited, owning the Houston Texans defense in a Saturday afternoon loss with seven receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. Just one week earlier, Anderson caught four passes for 76 yards and a touchdown against the rival Buffalo Bills.

Following those two big games, Anderson has five receiving touchdowns on the 2018 season and is inching closer towards pushing his receiving yards per game average to an even 50. It has been an uneven season for Anderson overall, but he’s shown his explosiveness in bits and pieces, so perhaps he is putting it all together at the right time.

The Jets offense will match up relatively well against the Green Bay Packers defense this week, and Darnold’s best chance of making an impact comes when he targets Anderson for those big plays. He’s one to watch in Week 16.
