Jonah Williams. 3. player. 30. . Offensive Tackle. Alabama

The New York Jets got a good effort from rookie quarterback Sam Darnold on Saturday, as they took on one of the better teams in the AFC in the Houston Texans. During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Jets traded up to select Darnold at No. 3 overall, and he has shown that he is going to be a special player at the NFL level.

Which is normally the case for young quarterbacks taken high in the draft, Darnold inherited a roster with plenty of holes, including up front on the offensive line. The Jets cannot afford to make the mistake of not investing in the offensive line to protect Darnold moving forward, so adding the best offensive lineman in this draft class makes sense at No. 3 in 2019.

That player is Jonah Williams, who has become the anchor on an Alabama line that is one of the best in college football. At the NFL level, Williams is going to be able to stay on the left side, and will be tasked with protecting Darnold’s blindside for the next ten seasons.

The Jets have been missing that franchise quarterback for most of the history of their organization, so Darnold is a breath of fresh air for Jets fans everywhere. He is going to be a Pro Bowl quarterback in the NFL, but if he continues to take a beating behind this bad offensive line, he will continue to miss time due to injury, much like he has this season.
