2019 NFL mock draft: Jaguars land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
That stellar offense we have been talking about all season long in Atlanta finally showed up on Sunday, although the team had to play the Arizona Cardinals to do so. The Falcons put a 40-spot on their NFC West division rival at home, showing the kind of play-making ability on offense that should have them in the discussion for a playoff spot in the NFC.
Unfortunately, this Falcons team has been one of the more disappointing in the NFL this season, and surprisingly, they are headed towards a top-10 pick next April. They have a lot of holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball, and it starts up front, where they could end up getting the best overall player in this draft class.
Quinnen Williams is a guy who could go as high as No. 1 overall, as he is just that good. During his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide, he has established himself as the premier defensive tackle in college football, and is a major reason why Alabama has a defense that could lead them to another national title this season.
The Falcons need help in the interior of their defensive line, and Williams would be a perfect fit for them in the middle. They are going to be back in the playoff discussion next season, and you have to think head coach Dan Quinn would like nothing more than to bring in an elite player to plug up the middle against guys like Mark Ingram and Christian McCaffrey.
