The New York Giants looked so good in their win against the Washington Redskins in Week 14, that people were calling for quarterback Eli Manning to be back under center in 2019. However, playing in driving rain on Sunday, the Giants, and Manning came down to earth, showing that it is pretty clear they need to make a change at quarterback moving forward.

New York could very well go with Manning next year, and draft a rookie quarterback in the first round, letting Manning mentor him in year one. If they do decide to go that route, they may want to move up from the No. 8 overall spot in the first round, which is where they would be if the season ended tomorrow.

If they do sit at No. 8, they could end up getting a solid quarterback as well, as Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State could still be available if the draft order looked like it does here. Haskins has not yet declared for the 2019 NFL Draft, and made a comment on Mike Weber’s Instagram about staying on Monday, so who knows where his head is at right now.

In Haskins, New York would have that big-arm talent that Odell Beckham Jr. has to be craving after starting his career catching passes from Manning. The Giants struck gold by selecting Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick in 2018, but they passed up on a future quarterback, which is something they cannot afford to do next April.
