DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 20, 2018
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,250
Luka Doncic (at LAC – $8,400): Needs 38.4 fantasy points. Doncic has been over 49 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He’s carving teams up right now with his scoring and assists. The Clippers are a solid matchup for him, although I do worry about his game on the road. He’s five fantasy points worse on the road compared to at home. Diagnosis: Road concerns, but high ceiling.
Josh Richardson (vs HOU – $6,800): Needs 31.1 fantasy points. After slumping for a handful of games, Richardson has been over 34 fantasy points in his last two games. The Rockets are on a back-to-back, which should help Miami’s case on Thursday. He really needs his scoring to boost his value, but he’s reliable in other categories. Diagnosis: Reliable at this salary.
High Value SG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Dwyane Wade (vs HOU): Needs 27.1 fantasy points. Wade bounced back from his 10.25 fantasy point performance against the Jazz with 28.5 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Dec. 16. If the Heat are down ball handlers, Wade is going to play big minutes. If Winslow plays, that will take pressure off Wade. But if he is out, along with the injury to Dragic and Johnson, it’s going to be a lot of DWade. Diagnosis: Circumstances could be very good with the injuries. Should be reliable if nothing else.
Wesley Matthews (at LAC – $4,800): Needs 22 fantasy points. Matthews was up to 27.5 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Dec. 18. He’s inconsistent, but the matchup is good. And he had 29 fantasy points against the Clippers on Dec. 2. He’ll get numbers but may fall a bit short of value. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.
