Players costing $6,667 or under

Emmanuel Mudiay (vs ATL – $6,400): Needs 27 fantasy points. Mudiay has been up-and-down in this recent stretch, but he’s getting plenty of minutes and opportunities. His two rough games came against relatively tough matchups. The matchup is not tough on Friday as it’s the Hawks at home. Expect a big outing from Mudiay. Diagnosis: Great matchup, high ceiling.

Fred VanVleet (vs CLE – $5,300): Needs 22.4 fantasy points. VanVleet had 26.9 fantasy points against the Pacers on Dec. 19. You’d like to see a bit more out of him with Lowry out, but the matchup was tough. The matchup is easier on Friday. As long as Lowry is out once again and VanVleet draws the start, he’ll have a strong outing. Diagnosis: Reliable, good ceiling, great matchup.

Cory Joseph (at BKN – $3,900): Needs 16.5 fantasy points. There’s nothing flashy about Jospeh, but he has shown a high ceiling, gets solid minutes, and is reliable at this salary. It’s a big night of action and you may need a low-cost guy if you want one of the big stars. If that’s the case, Joseph is a solid option. The matchup is decent and he’s a reliable guy. Diagnosis: Reliable if nothing else. Good salary.
