NFL FantasyDraft Week 16: Optimal NFL DFS Lineup
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NFL DFS FantasyDraft Week 16 Optimal Lineup build. We only have 2 more weeks left in the NFL regular season even though it seems like we just finished up week 1.
Overall, Week 16 doesn’t have many high projected scoring games, as evidenced by the Rams and Cardinals opening at 47.5 projected point total. With the Rams as a 13.5 point favorite I don’t know that I will have too much exposure to this game. One game I do plan on having some exposure to is the Texans and Eagles, with that being said let’s get started with my first player from this game.

NFL DFS Optimal QB:
Deshaun Watson: Watson is not a QB I have been on this season much at all because of his inconsistency. Between weeks 6-12 this season, Watson never had more than 24 pass attempts in a game. However, over his last three games, Watson is averaging 32 pass attempts per game and has a sweet matchup with the Eagles in Week 16. Entering this week, the Eagles are allowing an average of 298 passing yards per game and 20.6 FPPG on the season to opposing QB’s this season.
Other Options: Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, Cam Newton, Dak Prescott
NFL DFS Optimal Running Backs:
Saquon Barkley: Barkley is my top RB this week in a matchup with the Colts. With his big price drop from last week after his dismal 9.6 FP performance he just feels too cheap to ignore this week. Against the run, the Colts have been good, opposing backs have only rushed over 100 yards twice and average just 86 yards per game. Where they have issues is in the passing game, a place where Barkley flourishes. Barkley averages 7.6 targets per game.
Nick Chubb: We picked on Cincinnati last week and we will this week once again. Cincinnati has allowed the 4th most rushing yards, and 3rd most rushing tds. The Bengals are also allowing an average of 32.2 FPPG to running backs on the season which is dead last in the league
Other Options: Spencer Ware, Todd Gurley, Christian McCaffrey, Joe Mixon, Marlon Mack
NFL DFS Optimal Wide Receivers:
DeAndre Hopkins: Hopkins is the third most expensive receiver on the slate behind Tyreek Hill, and Julio Jones. Hopkins is coming off his best performance of the season against the Jets, where he scored 42 FP with 10 catches,170 yards and two touchdowns. This week he draws another sweet matchup against the Eagles this week, who allow an average of 198 receiving yards per game and 43.7 FPPG on the season.
Robby Anderson: Last week against Houston, Anderson had his second best fantasy game of the season with 7 catches, 96 yards, 1 touchdown and 22.60 fantasy points and could eclipse those numbers this week against a horrid Packers secondary. Green Bay allows the second most TD’s to receivers this season (20) and the 4th most FantasyDraft points with 41.6 per game.
Other Options: Devante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Jarvis Landry, Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Dante Pettis
NFL DFS Optimal Tight End:
David Njoku: As you read earlier the Bengals defense is bad, but it’s not just their run defense. Cinncy is tied for worst in the league with 9 TD’s allowed to tight ends this season and are tied for 2nd worst in the league with 16.1 FPPG allowed to tight ends. Njoku hasn’t gotten into the end zone since week 12 but I like Njoku to get into the end zone this week.
Other Options: Travis Kelce, CJ Uzomah, Ricky Seals-Jones, George Kittle
