High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Brook Lopez (at MIA – $4,900): Needs 21.9 fantasy points. Lopez was down to 14.5 fantasy points against the Celtics on Friday. He still gets plenty of minutes, which is the good news, but his shot isn’t falling right now and he’s not doing enough with his rebounding to make up the value. And the salary is a tad too high with the production he’s not giving you right now. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but a good ceiling.

Thomas Bryant (vs PHO – $4,600): Needs 20.6 fantasy points. If Markieff Morris doesn’t end up playing, Bryant should get enough minutes to justify the low salary. He’s shown a decent ceiling, but his minutes have been so inconsistent that you can’t trust him on a night-to-night basis. Assuming he gets the minutes, he should do enough with his scoring and rebounding to give you value. Diagnosis: An inconsistent option.

Mike Muscala (vs TOR – $4,200): Needs 18.8 fantasy points. Muscala gets decent minutes and can contribute with his scoring and rebounding. I don’t have a great read on this game because of the injuries to Toronto. If this turns into a blowout, maybe Muscala gets more minutes. But nothing is guaranteed with him. He did have 20.1 fantasy points in 23 minutes against the Raptors on Dec. 5. Diagnosis: An option.
