FanDuel NFL: Week 16 lineup
Running Backs: Ezekiel Elliot, Dallas Cowboys- $8,800
For the first time in 15 years, the Dallas Cowboys were shutout. They lost their Week 15 matchup to the Indianapolis Colts 28-0. Despite the loss, Elliot was productive. He compiled 87 yards on the ground on 18 carries. He also caught seven passes for 41 yards.
Elliot finished with under 20 fantasy points for the first time since Week 9, which was their last loss. He has rushed for at least 75 yards in each of his last six games. During that stretch he eclipsed the 100-yard mark in four of those matchups. In addition, he’s had at least five reception in each game.
The Cowboys return home this week to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa has allowed 1,794 yards on the ground, 27th in the NFL. On average they are allowing 128.1 rushing yards per game.
Tampa Bay has allowed backs to score 15 touchdowns on the ground, 31st in the league and six touchdowns through the air, tied for 32nd in the NFL. Opposing backs are averaging 26.1 fantasy points per game. The only teams that have allowed more per game are; the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
The last time Elliot played against the Buccaneers he compiled 159 yards and one score. If the Cowboys want to play postseason football, they will need to lean on Elliot.
Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns- $7,900
The second running back in Week 16’s lineup is a Chubb. The Rookie running back has had a very solid season and has played a big role in helping the Browns win six games so far this season.
Last week, Chubb rushed for 100 yards for the third time this season. He carried the ball 20 times for 100 yards and finished with 10 fantasy points. He has had six straight weeks with double digit fantasy points. His Week 15 total was his lowest during that stretch.
This was the first time in five weeks where Chubb did not score a rushing touchdown. During that span, Chubb compiled 542 yards on the ground and five scores, while adding two more touchdowns through the air.
Similar to Elliot, Chubb has a favorable Week 16 matchup. The Browns take on Bengals in Cleveland at 1:00pm ET. The last time this teams met, Chubb rushed for 84 yards and one score. He also caught three passes for 44 yards and one touchdown.
Cincinnati has allowed 1,993 rushing yards this season, 29th in the NFL. They are one of four teams in the league who have allowed over 140 rushing yards per game. Opposing backs are averaging 28.2 fantasy points per game against the Bengals, most in the league.
Over the last six games, Cincinnati has allowed backs to rush for over 100 yards four times. In two of those game they gave up at least 209 yards.
