High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Joel Embiid (at BOS – $10,300): Needs 46 fantasy points. Embiid’s numbers have been down in recent contests, but his minutes have been down as well. He typically doesn’t play great against the Celtics, but with Aron Baynes out of the lineup, maybe he’ll find more success. We know he’s a high ceiling player and he typically lives for these bigger games. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, not typically his matchup.

Steven Adams (at HOU – $7,200): Needs 32.2 fantasy points. Adams managed just 15.8 fantasy points against the Timberwolves on Dec. 23. He’s been trending down, but he usually plays well against Houston. He had 42 fantasy points against them on Nov. 8. The Thunder like to go to him a lot in this matchup and I suspect that will continue on Christmas. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Jusuf Nurkic (at UTA – $8,100): Needs 36.2 fantasy points. Aside from a rough outing against the Grizzlies, Nurkic has been consistent for the Blazers. He had 36 fantasy points against the Jazz on Dec. 21. He produces solid numbers despite not receiving a lot of minutes and that should be the case here. He’s really picked up his playmaking, which has helped his overall value. Diagnosis: Reliable.
