The New York Giants looked very good early against the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday, as they were really putting it on the potential AFC playoff team. However, they folded late, losing 28-27, and are going to finish the 2018 season in the cellar of the NFC East once again.

During this past offseason, the Giants made wholesale changes, bringing in a new general manager and head coach. When it came time to pick at No. 2 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, they decided to go with a running back in Saquon Barkley, who has been a beast for the team this season.

While Barkley has been wonderful, the Giants did pass on the opportunity to draft a franchise quarterback, as Eli Manning’s days as that are numbered. Guys like Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold will not be available this Spring, but Justin Herbert will be, and he has the talent to be special at the next level.

The Giants need to get a quarterback in the first round in 2019, and that means even if they have to move up a couple of spots to assure they get one. They currently sit at No. 8 overall, and Herbert is a top-5 talent, so they may have to swing a deal with some of the team holding early picks in order to get their guy.
