Players costing $6,667 or under

Rudy Gay (vs DEN – $6,200): Needs 25.8 fantasy points. I’m expecting a lot out of Gay in this one. The Spurs are unlikely to run Denver out of the building, which means Gay will get plenty of minutes. He’s been fantastic for the Spurs during this stretch and will need to come up big if the Spurs hope to upset the Nuggets. I think he’ll get it done as he can contribute in all areas. His salary as lessened, making him easier to fit into your lineup. Diagnosis: Kind of a gut feeling, but he’s also played very well and has earned this spot.

Trevor Ariza (at DET – $6,000): Needs 25 fantasy points. Ariza was down to 13.8 fantasy points against the Pacers on Dec. 23. Again, night after triple OT game and he played just 28 minutes. Don’t be too concerned. He’s playing great as a member of the Wizards and with the rest, should be back in form on Wednesday. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Justise Winslow (vs TOR – $5,500): Needs 22.9 fantasy points. Winslow looked more like himself on Dec. 23 against the Magic, coming up with 46.7 fantasy points. With the injuries to Miami, he’s turned into a strong playmaker for them. And he continues to score the ball well. He should play a big role in this game as the Heat will need his all-around ability. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
