Joe Montana Division

4. Russell Wilson (LW: 5)

This was supposed to be a rebuilding season for the Seahawks. Instead, it’s turned out to be a rebound from missing the postseason a year ago. Wilson was tremendous against the Chiefs in a. 38-31, playoff-clinching win on Sunday night, putting Seattle into the dance.

3. Andrew Luck (LW: 4)

Luck is doing everything he can to propel Indianapolis into the postseason. The Colts are 9-6 and now need to beat the Titans to earn the AFC’s sixth seed. This year, Luck has totaled 4,308 yards and 36 touchdowns, putting himself into the MVP conversation.

2. Drew Brees (LW: 2)

Brees has somewhat fell out of the MVP conversation in recent weeks, but he’s still riding in the pole position for quarterback with best chance to win the Super Bowl. It’s a safe guess that Brees would take that after so many years chasing his second ring.

1. Patrick Mahomes (LW: 1)

Mahomes and the Chiefs have lost two consecutive games, but it hasn’t been because of the 23-year-old MVP frontrunner. Kansas City can still clinch home-field throughout the AFC on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, and Mahomes needs two touchdown passes for 50 as a first-year starter. He also needs 184 yards for 5,000. Insane.
