High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Malcolm Brogdon (vs NY – $5,300): Needs 24.2 fantasy points. We’re really doing this matchup again? Brogodon had 36 fantasy points against the Knicks on Christmas. He’s been a reliable option with a high ceiling for most of the season and nothing has changed on Thursday. The matchup is a good one because it’s the Knicks. Brogdon should have no issue getting points while chipping in in other categories in order to get you value. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Lonzo Ball (at SAC – $5,500): Needs 25.3 fantasy points. With Rondo and LeBron out of the lineup, Lonzo will have plenty of opportunities to contribute. He’s inconsistent because he’s not exactly reliable in one category, but he can put up numbers in all categories. And with the Lakers missing their two stable veterans, it’ll be the kids running the show again. That worked out well last year. I think. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling and great circumstances.

Austin Rivers (vs BOS – $3,400): Needs 15.5 fantasy points. Austin Rivers wasn’t available to play on slates on Christmas. But he played well and could see more minutes with Harden out of the lineup. He’s at a good salary and in Houston’s offense, he’s going to get shots. Even if Harden plays, that will make shots easier for him. And he won’t kill you at this salary. Diagnosis: Low-cost and reliable given his cost. Ceiling is decent if things really swing his way.
