DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 27, 2018
High Value SG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Brandon Ingram (at SAC – $5,800): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. Ingram had 19 fantasy points in 24 minutes against the Warriors on Christmas. This is tough to call because, in theory, he should get more minutes with LeBron out of the lineup. But the team also seems to play better with him off the court. And he’s really only getting it done with his scoring. The matchup is good with the Kings being on a back-to-back, but there are a lot of red flags around his game right now. Diagnosis: Risky, but a high ceiling if he can step up without LeBron.
Eric Gordon (vs BOS – $5,800): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. Gordon had 33.5 fantasy points against the Thunder on Christmas. With Paul out, he’s a reliable option with a high ceiling. If Harden is out, his ceiling goes up, but I find him to be a little less reliable just because the extra pressure and attention will be on him. And I’m not sure he’ll be able to step up as the top option, especially against a good team like the Celtics. Diagnosis: Take with confidence if Harden plays. If Harden doesn’t play, he has a high ceiling but is less reliable.
Joe Ingles (vs PHI – $5,700): Needs 26 fantasy points. Ingles had 32.25 fantasy points on Christmas. He’s been playing well well, getting it done in all the major offensive categories. Until he shows signs of slowing down, keep taking him with confidence. The Jazz will need his all-around ability in this tough matchup against the Sixers. Diagnosis: Hot streak, reliable, and a good ceiling.
Quick Hits
Marcus Smart ($4,400): If Harden plays, take him with confidence. He loves this matchup.
