High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Clint Capela (vs BOS – $9,000): Needs 40.4 fantasy points. Capela has been over 50 fantasy points in his last two games. Once again, this game largely depends on the status of Harden. Without Harden, those points won’t come quite as easy for him unless the Celtics aren’t playing with the energy they should be playing with. With Harden, Capela is a fairly reliable option with a good ceiling. Diagnosis: If Harden plays, take Capela will confidence. If Harden doesn’t play, he has a high ceiling, but he’s more of a risk.

Rudy Gobert (vs PHI – $8,900): Needs 39.9 fantasy points. Gobert had 55.8 fantasy points against the Blazers on Christmas. The points and rebounds are typically there for him. And we know he’s always a threat to chip in with blocks. The minutes will definitely be there against the Sixers and Embiid. And given Embiid’s usage, Gobert will have plenty of opportunities to come up with blocks. He’s inconsistent, but there is plenty working in his favor on Thursday. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and I like the matchup for him.

Jusuf Nurkic (at GS – $7,700): Needs 34.5 fantasy points. Nurkic was down to 27 fantasy points against the Jazz on Christmas. Prior to that, he had been a reliable option and I like this matchup for him because I don’t like what the Warriors are doing right now. Even if I think the Warriors will play better in this game, they remain weak at the center position. And Nurkic can hurt them with his scoring and rebounding. Diagnosis: Reliable.
