High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Ivica Zubac (at SAC – $6,500): Needs 29.1 fantasy points. Just expect Zubac to have the greatest game ever because that’s what he’s doing. His salary has gone way up, but the minutes will continue to be there as long as McGee is out. I do worry about how well he’ll play with LeBron out of the lineup, but I’m not doubting the greatest center of all-time. His higher salary makes him a slight risk because it’s tough to trust a guy who has a big three games. But he’s definitely proven a lot in those three games. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but I worry that the bottom drops at some point.

Brook Lopez (vs NY – $5,500): Needs 24.7 fantasy points. Lopez had 29.8 fantasy points against the Knicks on Christmas. It’s the Knicks, so scoring won’t be an issue for Lopez. And he’ll come up with a couple of rebounds and maybe a defensive play or two. If nothing else, he’s a reliable player at this salary. Diagnosis: Reliable, good ceiling, and it’s the Knicks. A blowout is the only real concern.

Kevon Looney (vs POR – $4,000): Needs 17.9 fantasy points. Looney won’t turn in a huge game, but he’s at a low enough salary to where he doesn’t have to do much to hit value. And he still plays next to four All-Stars, even if two of those All-Stars have struggled in a big way this year. Still, Looney is in a good position, both on the team and with his DFS salary. He’ll do enough to at least get you value and can always jump over 20 fantasy points if the Warriors are clicking a bit more. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
