High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,667

Steph Curry (vs POR – $9,700): Needs 40.9 fantasy points. Curry had a rough Christmas, coming up with just 25.7 fantasy points against the Blazers. I can’t see him struggling in the same manner on Thursday. He’s too good of a player and even though the Warriors are struggling, so are the Blazers. And Curry typically plays well against this matchup. Trust him to have a bounce-back performance against a proven matchup. Diagnosis: High ceiling and a good matchup. He’ll bounce back in this game.

Kyrie Irving (at HOU – $9,300): Needs 39.2 fantasy points. This game largely comes down to the status of Harden. If Harden plays, the Celtics will get up for this game and very few raise their level of play like Kyrie does. But if Harden doesn’t play, there’s a letdown factor. Not only is there a letdown factor, there’s a blowout factor. Either way could see Kyrie more limited than normal. I still think he’s reliable, but his ceiling will be limited. Diagnosis: Reliable, but ceiling depends on the status of Harden.

De’Aaron Fox (vs LAL – $8,500): Needs 35.8 fantasy points. Fox had 41.7 fantasy points against the Clippers on Wednesday. It’s a back-to-back for the Kings, but they are at home and the Lakers are banged up. I still like the way Fox has played this season and trust him on the back-to-back. He’s got young enough legs to where he should be able to deliver. And he’ll get a boost from LeBron being afraid of him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
