High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Eric Gordon (vs BOS – $6,300): Needs 26.7 fantasy points. Gordon’s value largely depends on the status of James Harden. If Harden plays, Gordon is a reliable option with a high ceiling. But if Harden doesn’t play, Gordon’s ceiling goes up, but his reliability goes down. The opportunities will be there and it’s possible the Celtics have a letdown and allow Houston to hang around. But it’s also possible the Celtics lock in and lock up Gordon, who will be the No. 1 option, a role he’s not very familiar with. Diagnosis: Reliable and a good ceiling with Harden. Higher ceiling, but less reliable without Harden.

Bogdan Bogdanovic (vs LAL – $6,300): Needs 26.7 fantasy points. Bogdan had 21.8 fantasy points against the Clippers on Wednesday. He struggled more than we’re used to seeing him struggle, but I’m not too concern. He’s been a reliable option throughout this season and the Kings are back at home. West teams just play better at home and struggle on the road. Bogdan will have a bounce-back performance in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable.

Malcolm Brogdon (vs NY – $5,700): Needs 24.1 fantasy points. Brogdon had 37.2 fantasy points against the Knicks on Christmas. Brogdon has been solid this season and he gets the Knicks again. This doesn’t feel fair. The Bucks probably won’t come out flat as they did on Christmas, which means this game could turn into a blowout. That’s the risk, but Brogdon is at a good enough salary and can contribute even in limited minutes. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling if the game is competitive.
