High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Fred VanVleet (at ORL – $5,500): Needs 23.3 fantasy points. VanVleet was down to 19.2 fantasy points despite being in the starting lineup against the Heat on Dec. 26. He’ll draw the start once again with Lowry out and the matchup is much easier for him on Friday. Expect a bounce-back performance from him against the Magic. Diagnosis: He’ll be better given the matchup. His ceiling remains high given his role on the team and his usual minutes.

J.J. Barea (at NO – $5,100): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. Barea had 33.5 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Dec. 26. It’s the same matchup and the Pelicans have the same issues. But West teams are better at home. Still, their second unit isn’t good and they can’t defend the perimeter. As long as Bare gets the minutes, this should be another strong outing for him. Diagnosis: High ceiling and a great matchup.

Tyler Johnson (vs CLE – $4,700): Needs 19.9 fantasy points. Johnson is no longer in the starting lineup due to the return of Winslow, but there’s always a chance he does start. Either way, his minutes remain about the same. He had 38.2 fantasy points against the Raptors on Dec. 26. And now he gets the Cavaliers. He does a bit of everything and as long as the minutes are there, the production will be as well. Diagnosis: Good matchup and a good ceiling.
