Starting Running Back Option One: Dalvin Cook $6,700

There are some deals at the running back position this week. With Todd Gurley still a question mark, and him being the most expensive running back, that means there are some more hearty options as you scroll down the pricing sheet.

Dalvin Cook is one of those players, as he comes at the bargain basement price of $6,700. He’s cheaper than Aaron Jones and Kerryon Johnson, who are both on injured reserve.

Cook is playing a very good defense in the Chicago Bears, but one that might not have a lot to play for in the second half of this game. With the secondary focused on Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs, it could open up lanes we didn’t expect against this extremely good front seven.

So, why would you take a chance on Cook? He’s alright since coming back, with one really good game. In December, he’s only had one game that is slightly below average, and has been above average in all the other games.

This is the type of consistency you need to win this week’s matchup.

Starting Running Back Option Two: Damien Williams $6,900

Damien Williams may seem like another risk, but he’s really not. He just got paid, and that happiness will lead him to having a very good week in Daily Fantasy this week.

Even if Spencer Ware gets some of the carries, it’s clear the Chiefs feel like Williams is their starting running back of the future and the present.

Williams is facing the 30th ranked rushing defense in the Raiders. There will be lots of offense, and lots of opportunity to score touchdowns in this game. I actually think the Raiders will stay competitive.

That means the Chiefs will have to keep scoring, and that will continually give Williams opportunities to hit pay dirt.

At $6,900, this gives you the opportunity to spend bigger elsewhere, when there are more question marks at receiver and tight end.

Backup Running Back Option: Saquon Barkley $8,500

If you want a high-end running back this week, Saquon Barkley is the player to choose. He’s making a last ditch effort to make a run at Rookie of the Year, and who knows how much the Cowboys are going to put into this matchup.

They have everything locked up, so they might not even pay some of their starters.

Barkley hasn’t been great in recent weeks, but this push for end-of-season awards might be what he needs to push him towards a huge game.
