Players costing $6,250 or under

Klay Thompson (at POR – $6,000): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. Thompson has been all over the place this season as he’s struggled shooting the ball. But he was up to 36.5 fantasy points against the Blazers on Dec. 27 and typically plays well against Portland. He’s averaged 35.7 fantasy points in his last five games against Portland. His ceiling is high because when he’s hot, he’s almost unstoppable. Diagnosis: A risk, but a proven matchup and a high ceiling.

Eric Gordon (at NO – $5,800): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. Much like Harden, except on a lesser level, you sort of know what you’re getting from Gordon right now. He’s going to get you at least 30 fantasy points and the ceiling is much higher given the system he’s in. Once again, the Pelicans are on a back-to-back and they don’t offer much in terms of defense. It should be another good night for Gordon. Diagnosis: Reliable, good matchup, good ceiling.

Alec Burks (at ATL – $4,500): Needs 20.6 fantasy points. Burks has been fairly reliable due to his salary and the minutes he gets. He was up to 31.5 fantasy points against the Heat on Friday, which hopefully is a precursor to bigger games for him. The matchup is easier for him on Saturday and he can do a bit of everything. Diagnosis: Reliable at this salary, good ceiling, great matchup.
