High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Ivica Zubac (vs SAC – $6,400): Needs 28.3 fantasy points. Zubac has looked normal in his last two games. He had 14 fantasy points against the Kings on Dec. 27. It was bound to happen at some point and it makes him a risk moving forward. But we know he has a high ceiling and there is hope that he can turn it around. Still, this salary is probably too high to take that risk. Diagnosis: High risk, high reward.

Tyson Chandler (vs SAC – $3,800): Needs 17.1 fantasy points. A more cost-effective option might be Chandler, who has played very well in the last two games. His minutes are not guaranteed, but he’s playing better than Zubac right now and if Zubac continues to struggle, Chandler could see his minutes continue to climb. He’s at a cost that won’t kill you and if he plays, you can count on him for rebounds and some defensive plays. Diagnosis: An option.

Mike Muscala (at POR – $3,600): Needs 16.2 fantasy points. This is largely about the circumstances. If Embiid doesn’t play, Muscala figures to get those minutes. And we’ve seen him have some big games when he’s gotten decent minutes. He’s not all that reliable, but if Embiid doesn’t play, you can take him as a punt option who can have a big game due to the circumstances. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and minutes should be there if Embiid is absent.
