FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 30, 2018
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,667
Luka Doncic (vs OKC – $8,600): Needs 36.4 fantasy points. Doncic had 36.9 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Dec. 28. The Mavericks are at home, which is good news for the value of all their players. Luka has been good this season, but he’s been better at home. The Thunder offer a good defense, but I’m not betting against Luka. He’s been on another level compared to your typical rookie. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling. Matchup is tough.
Jimmy Butler (at POR – $8,300): Needs 35.1 fantasy points. Butler was down to 30.7 fantasy points against the Jazz on Dec. 27. He’s been all over the place as a member of the Sixers, but this is largely based on the circumstances. If Embiid doesn’t play, Butler will play a bigger role in the offense. And because of that, I like him in this game. If Embiid ends up playing, I don’t like him quite as much. Diagnosis: High ceiling and reliable if Embiid doesn’t play. If Embiid does play, his ceiling is more limited.
Zach LaVine (at TOR – $7,800): Needs 33 fantasy points. Your other options at SG are LaVine or Hield. I’ve love Hield this season, but he’s shooting cold right now. There’s always a chance that the lid comes off and he gets back into form. LaVine is a bit more reliable with his scoring but could stand to do more in other categories. And the matchup is tougher for LaVine. Diagnosis: High ceiling and fairly reliable.
